Table Rock Dam Tours

Tour inside Table Rock Dam, one of Missouri’s largest dams – designed and constructed from 1954-1958

This is your chance to get an up-close and personal view of Table Rock Dam & the Power Plant by taking a guided walking tour of the facility. You'll find the tour informational, interesting and fun – especially if you're an energy conservation fan or a history buff.

Tours resumed on July 3, 2010 after about a 9-year quiet period where tours were not allowed. Now that tours of the Dam & Power Plant are up-and-running again, you can see some of the dam's inner workings – for power generation, flood control & lake maintenance.

Tours available:

• Table Rock Dam Tour (departing from the Dewey Short Visitor Center) – This tour includes a ride on a San Francisco Cable Car, plus a walking tour inside Table Rock Dam

Things you need to know (security information):

• You have to be at least 6 years old to tour the Dam (under 6 not admitted)


• You must be an American citizen to take the tour


• Everyone age 16 & older must show a government issued photo ID


• Kids age 6-10 must have a parent or guardian with them


• Be prepared to climb multiple flights of stairs


• Make sure you're comfortable in confined, damp spaces


• Cameras, cell phones, purses & packs are not allowed into the dam
