Downtown Branson

Downtown BransonLocated just east of highway 65 along the shores of Lake Taneycomo, Downtown Branson definitely has the feel of an old-time main street, but great things are happening as new shops and restaurants mix in with the long-standing favorites. From brick sidewalks and Victorian lampposts to the rail depot that is now the Branson Scenic Railway, downtown is just a charming, relaxing destination with over 60 retail stores for you to peruse. You can even arrange a guided historical walking tour. These are available by appointment; call the Downtown Branson Main Street Association, or follow the link below to their website.

There's a new way to explore Downtown Branson, even when you have no particular place to go. It's the Discovery Trolleys that began operating in October of 2006. During the test phase, the new trolley system operated from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week through December 22. The trolleys make a loop through the Historic District and Branson Landing. Stops are at Commercial and Main Street, Commercial and Pacific Street, Bass Pro Shop parking lot and Belks Department store parking lot. The trolleys run about every 10 minutes.

You'll find plenty of lodging, restaurant and shopping choices Downtown. There's also special events scheduled throughout the year. Here's the current list:
