Molly & Carter's 5th Birthday Party at The Titanic Museum Attraction

Branson's Annual Fall Clean-up Week

November 18, 2013 thru November 21, 2013

The Branson Public Works Department will be conducting its annual Fall cleanup November 18 - 21 to help residents properly dispose of large unwanted items at no cost. This is a semi-annual event which is part of an ongoing effort to keep Branson beautiful.

The cleanup service is available for individual residents of Branson, but not for businesses or commercial entities. This provides residents the opportunity to get rid of those large unwanted and difficult to manage items like old appliances, furniture and mattresses which are not picked up by residential trash haulers.

College of the Ozarks Operation Christmas Child 2013

November 18, 2013 thru November 25, 2013

Every year, College of the Ozarks participates in Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan's Purse, and collects shoeboxes filled with gifts to send to children living in poverty-stricken or war-torn countries worldwide.

Individuals interested in participating in OCC may drop off gift-filled shoebox(es) November 18-25, 10:00 am - noon on Mondays; 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tue. - Sat.; and noon - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the OCC truck located next to the Christian Ministries building on campus.

Shoeboxes can contain:

  • toothpaste
  • toys
  • school supplies

White River Painting Exhibit & Sale at College of the Ozarks' Ralph Foster Museum

November 14, 2013 thru December 20, 2013

The exhibit is at the Ralph Foster Museum, located at College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri; only 2 miles south of Branson (physical address: 100 Opportunity Avenue, Hollister, MO 65672)

Artists throughout the Ozarks region submitted paintings to the White River Painting Exhibit at College of the Ozarks. Paintings reflect the artist's personal views of what is important to him/her about the Ozarks.

Dr. Peggy Kjelgaard, executive director at the Eureka Springs School of the Arts, was this year's juror. . Monetary awards were awarded for the top three, as well as for honorable mentions.

An opening reception to celebrate this special exhibit will take place Nov.14, 2-4:30 p.m. in Edwards Art Gallery at the Ralph Foster Museum.  Monetary awards will be awarded for the top three, as well as for honorable mentions, and many of the paintings will be for sale.

Ralph Foster Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Admission prices are $6 for adults, $5 for senior adults (65 and older) and free for high school age and under.

Tony Orlando's 20th & Final Patriotic Salute 2013

November 11, 2013

Tony Orlando hosts his 20th and final "Yellow Ribbon Salute to Veterans" in 2013.

It's a 2:00 p.m. show, FREE for veterans at the Welk Theater.

An annual event to honor all veterans.

Tony hopes that another entertainer will continue the tradition.








80th Annual Veteran's Day Parade and Ceremony

November 11, 2013

A FREE Branson event.

The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. in Historic Downtown Branson.

On the 11th month, 11th day and 11th hour we honor our veterans.

Veterans' Day Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. with a ceremony honoring veterans in historic downtown Branson.

The parade is the finale of a full week's festivities honoring American veterans, sponsored by local Veterans organizations and the Branson Veterans Task Force.

2013 Parade route: The parade starts at the south parking lot of the Branson Convention Center, then to College Street moving west before turning north onto Commercial Street, then back south on Branson Landing Boulevard.

Mollie B Polka Party Christmas Special - A Branson Limited Engagement

Mollie B Polka Party Christmas Special is at RFD-TV The Theatre, 4080 W Highway 76 (intersection of 76 & 376, formerly the Ray Stevens & Country Tonite Theatre).

Mollie B hosts a weekly Polka tv show on RFD-TV, and performs this LIVE Polka Party Christmas show at the RFD-TV Theatre. She features popular Polka guests like Alex Meixner, Ted Lange, Fred ZiwichTuba Dan and more. You'll hear a variety of music in the 2-hour show, including lots of your favorite Christmas Polkas! You will fall in love with Mollie's rendition of Ave Maria.

It's a limited engagement; the show is at 2:00 & 7:30 pm on November 10 and 7:30 pm on November 11, 2013.

Veteran's Homecoming Week 2013

Be sure to ask every show, attraction, lodging, restaurant, shop, rv park and campground if they offer discounts for Veterans during Veterans Week.

Even though the Factory Merchants Mall (a.k.a. the Red Roof Mall) is closed, the Branson Veterans Task Force will once again be able to use the space for the Veterans Village and Day Room during the Branson Veterans Homecoming Week this year. (The city owns with property now.)

Trail of Lights 2013 at Shepherd of the Hills

Location: Shepherd of the Hills, 5586 W Hwy 76, Branson


The Trail of Lights is a drive-through animation display that winds its way through the historic Shepherd of the Hills 160-acre homestead. You'll travel through a variety of different lands, each with its own theme and holiday music, from fantasy to religious to patriotic. Life-size (and some larger than life) three-dimensional characters have their own housing so you can peek in on the fun happening inside.

Favorite light displays include:

  • a Victorian Village
  • North Pole Village
  • The Elves General Store
  • The Animals Knelt
  • Reindeer Care
  • The Reason for the Season
  • Land of Sugar and Spice

The grand finale is a stop by Inspiration Tower where you can ride glass elevators up 230 feet for a Santa's-eye view of the lights from above.

Inside and out, The Titanic Museum is magical during the winter holidays. The sights, sounds and joy of the season are sure to hail the arrival of Christmas 2013.

Titanic will join the Branson community November 1 to kick off the 24th Ozark Mountain Christmas with the official lighting ceremonies. You're invited to stop by November through December for Titanic's holiday spirit. The ship will be aglow!

College of the Ozarks 2013 Homecoming

Alumni and the public are invited to participate in and/or observe many activities, including a 5K run/walk, basketball games, student activity booths, the dedication of the new Alumni Veterans Memorial and the C of O Homecoming Parade.

The C of O Lady Bobcats will take on Ottawa University, Fri. Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., in the Keeter Gymnasium. The C of O Men's Basketball Team will play Southwestern College, Saturday Nov. 2, at 3:15 p.m., in the Keeter Gymnasium. The public is invited to attend both of these games; tickets may be purchased at the box office.

Events on Saturday, Nov. 2 are open to the public:

  • the College will dedicate the new Alumni Veterans Memorial on Saturday, Nov.2, at 10 a.m., at the main campus flag pole on the Chapel lawn
  • 5K Run/Walk at 9:15 a.m. (The 5K entry fee is $20, and applications are available at www.cofo.edu/alumni. For questions on the run/walk, please contact Assistant Professor of Physical Education Don Hoeck at (417) 690-2571)
  • Student activity booths open 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
