Guided hikes for local residents and visitors. Everyone invited!
Two hikes on Tuesday, June 4, both lasting about an hour:
Meet at the Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area at the corner of Hwy 76 & Fall Creek Road
11:00 am Hike:
- Learn the history of the 102-year old Lyle Owen house (The original homestead was purchased for the price of a mule and a barrel of molasses; a solid stone home was built there in 1911)
- Learn about the bluff gardens overlooking Lake Taneycomo
- Learn about the 315 hand-lain stone steps leading to the Lake
2:00 pm Hike:
- Branson's newest trail, the Waterfall Trail, located at the corner of Roark Valley Road and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, near the charcoal plant
Arrive prepared! Wear sturdy shoes, sun screen, bug spray and bring plenty of water.
