Silver Dollar City's Old Time Christmas Festival
| November 3, 2007 thru December 30, 2007
At Silver Dollar City, 399 Indian Point Road, Branson, MO 65616.
The Old Time Christmas Festival is one of six fun festivals at Silver Dollar City this season. The others: World-Fest, April 5 through May 6; Bluegrass & BBQ Festival, May 12 through June 3; National Kids' Fest, June 9 through August 12; Southern Gospel Picnic, August 30 through September 9; and the Festival of American Music & Crafts September 13 through October 27, 2007.
It's a special evening at the park during the Old Time Christmas Festival. Over 4 million lights adorn the park, making it feel like a special place to take your time and walk all the pathways. Stop along the way for tastes of the season and holiday treats.
At 5:30 in the evening, the entire City square is transformed into a holiday wonderland. The all-new 7-story Special Effects Christmas Tree serves as the centerpiece, and the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade guides through the City streets twice each evening (weather permitting). The Special Effects Christmas Tree has a new song (for a total of 6 rotating songs) and new lighting this year, too. The tree lighting ceremony is nightly at 5:30 pm and will perform every 15 minutes from 6 pm until park closing.
This year is Silver Dollar City's "Biggest Light Show Ever," with the lights on the Square synchronized with the music that's playing. The Special Effects Christmas Tree, the smaller trees and the lights on the buildings will all move with the music to immerse you in a wonderful new experience.
You can see A Dickens' Christmas Carol at the Opera House Theater, or just enjoy the holiday shows throughout the City streets.
Rides and attractions open during the festival include Fire-In-The-Hole, Frisco Sing-Along Steam Train, Geyser Gulch, Grandfather's Mansion, Marvel Cave, Thunderation, Tom Sawyer's Landing, PowderKeg, WildFire and the Grand Exposition. It's a great place to come "home" for the holidays.
During the Old Time Christmas Festival, Silver Dollar City has extended its hours on Saturdays and the day after Thanksgiving; now they're open from 11:30 am to 11 pm on those days.
