Barbara has been entertaining since she was 5 years old. Her career in country music accelerated in 1973. She was nominated for a Grammy when her song "The Teddy Bear Song" reached #1 on the charts. Her many hits following include "Baby Doll" and "Kid Stuff." Since 1991 Barbara has been recognized in the southern gospel music field with songs such as "Could You Walk A Mile," "Turn Right And Go Straight," "Apples of Gold," and "Uncommon Love." She was also a member of the gospel group Heirloom, along with Candy Hemphill Christmas, Sherri Easter and Tonya Goodman Sykes. On August 12, 2003, she realized a long-time dream to record a gospel album, "Love Never Fails," with her best friends in country music, Connie Smith and Sharon White. In January of 2006, Barbara released her latest hymns album with Daywind Music entitled, "He Kept On Loving Me." Barbara has been an important member of the Branson community since 1992 when she moved here to perform in the Mel Tillis Show. In 1993, she started producing and performing in her own show where she performed for 11 years. Barbara and her husband Roy now tour throughout the year performing at churches, concerts and other venues across the United States. For several years she has been a spokesperson for Feed The Children, a sponsor for the Foster Grandparents Organization and is a member of Concerned Women Of America. In 2008, Barbara opened The Barbara Fairchild Diner in Branson at 3044 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway in the Victorian Village (next to the Hamner Barber Theatre). Also, Barbara's FREE Sunday morning worship service is at Music City Centre in 2012, 1835 W Highway 76. It's at 10:00 am Sundays. Admission is FREE with a love offering taken. The Barbara Fairchild Show is from 6:00 - 7:00 pm; Tuesday thru Saturday in 2012 (additional shows may be scheduled from time to time. Call for updates)
