A two-act musical, Conway Twitty, It's Only Make Believe, is filled with unforgettable music, humor, true emotion and brilliant performances. This is the story of Conway told through the eyes of his children...the ones who just called him Dad. Over 30 of Conway's hits are featured and performed by singer and actor Glen Templeton who was cast to portray Conway after an exhaustive national talent search. Loretta Lynn, portrayed by Emily Portman, joins Conway onstage for their unforgettable duets.
You'll hear hits including: Hello Darlin, Goodbye Time, Don't Cry Joni, Crazy In Love, Louisian Woman - Mississippi Man (written by Branson's Jim Owen), That's My Job, Slow Hand, Desperado Love, I'd Love To Lay You Down, The Rose and It's Only Make Believe.
This is the story of his successes in early Rock 'n Roll and R&B that ends with Conway Twitty becoming a pure Country Music Legend - all the while balancing his career and family, and making it all work.
This tribute performance is on the very stage that Conway Twitty had his final performance before his untimely passing in 1993. The theater was the Ray Stevens Theatre at the time.
Shows are at 3 or 8 pm October 19-24, 2009.
