Hamner Barber Variety Show

At the Hamner Barber Theatre, 3090 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway (just down from the Shoji Tabuchi Theatre).

The Hamner Barber Variety Show appeals to audiences of all ages and features the award-winning illusions of The Hamners as well as the vocal comedy of internationally recognized ventriloquist Jim Barber and a talented cast of singing dancers.

Celebrating their 9th season in 2012! Brand-new routines and new illusions!

As seen on NBC's "World's Greatest Magic," The Hamners produce several enormous exotic birds. Their beautiful Macaws and Cockatoos appear amid flying cards, flaming swords, falling coins and jewels and then perform an incredible flight over and around the audience before gracefully returning to the stage. In 2006 the Hamners received their second prestigious Merlin Award from the International Magicians Society as International "Entertainers of the Year." Here's a few magical illusions by Dave Hamner and his wife Denise you've got to see to believe:

• Stargate – where Denise "loses her head" and gets divided into 12 pieces


• Vertigo – where Dave hypnotizes Denise and places her on top of a Plexiglas trap door that's raised fifteen feet above a bed of solid steel spikes


• Denise is also transformed from a tropical parrot into herself. She is impaled with a dozen light sabers and three metal tubes, and if that weren't enough, she floats effortlessly in mid-air with no strings attached

Jim Barber has been featured on every major television network and his incredible vocal abilities as a singer and ventriloquist leave everyone talking. Jim was recently awarded the International "Ventriloquist of the Year" Merlin Award for his unique combination of magic techniques and ventriloquism. His one-of-a-kind characters and original, wholesome comedy have made him an audience favorite. Jim came to Branson in 1994 to appear in the Glen Campbell Good Time Show, and he has been with The Hamners since 2004. A NEW Veteran's Tribute was unveiled in 2010, which can only be described as a "magical, multi-media tribute to ALL Veterans." It's an educational and emotional tribute featuring rare, historic footage and interviews with 3 survivors of the WWII Battle of Iwo Jima. The production features original music sung by the cast. It's a spectacular, magical production that will bring you to your feet in applause. Many long-time Branson visitors have mentioned that this is the most powerful tribute to our Veterans ever seen on a Branson stage.

During November and December the shows take on a holiday theme as The Wings of Christmas takes flight. A spectacular production featuring the best of their regular show plus original new music and breathtaking illusions that appeal to all ages.

The Hamner Barber New Year's Eve Show takes place December 31, 2012 at 9:00 pm. You'll see an expanded version of the Hamner Barber Variety Show, contests, prizes, festive party favors and food & drinks (catered by Qdoba Mexican Grill). It's a family night, so the magical midnight toast will be with drinks that are alcohol-free. Bring your whole family for a fun celebration marking the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013.
