Les Brown Band of Renown

Les Brown Band of RenownAt the Mickey Gilley Theatre, 3455 W Highway 76.

This show should be nothing less than Nirvana for big band lovers, especially those who recall the great years of the Les Brown Band of Renown as it accompanied Bob Hope on radio, tv, and overseas entertaining the troops.

In Branson since 2004, the Les Brown Band of Renown continues to attract visitors from across the USA with its big band sounds of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Like father, like son, Les Brown, Jr. has directed the band since 2001.

Les Jr. takes the audience on its own sentimental journey with humorous and touching tales of growing up with his dad, the band, and the stars they performed with--Doris Day, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, and many others.

For over 65 years, Les Brown and the Band of Renown have played dazzling big band music, with #1 hits like "Sentimental Journey" and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm." You'll hear songs by Glenn Miller, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin and Dean Martin. It's just like the good old days, with comedy, stories and dancing throughout the show. (If you need a big band "fix" and can't get to Branson, check out Les Brown Jr.'s national radio show on the Music Of Your Life network.)

Multimedia interludes show rare photos and film clips, and the audience is welcomed, even encouraged, to dance. A sellout in concerts, with rave reviews, and now at the Mickey Gilley Theatre.

Show time is at 10 am or 8 pm, May 1 through July 14 and September 1 through December 9, 2007.
