Smoke on the Mountain![]() At the Little Opry Theatre located inside Branson's IMAX Entertainment Complex, 3562 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. Born off-Broadway, the musical comedy Smoke on the Mountain has become one of the most widely produced shows in theatrical history. The setting is the summer of 1938 and a Saturday night revival at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the North Carolina hills, where, it seems, the somewhat wacky Sanders family has been invited to entertain. Based on its author's real-life experience, Smoke is a world of roof-raising song and riotous comedy. Wherever it plays, both critics and audiences call it "heartwarming" and "hilarious," and Branson is no exception. Note: for Christmas in November and December, the cast presents a sequel show, The Sanders Family Christmas (those shows are green on the show schedule). The show is in its 14th Branson season in 2012. Shows are at 8 pm Tuesday through Saturday; April 3 - December 29, 2012.
